You have asked to “gaze upon the beauty of the Lord-to seek his face.” (Ps. 27:4) That is what I give you. You ask to shed beauty and goodness and love in great measure. I give it to you now. You have not asked for riches, though you have them, or fame, you may have that too. I give you a deeply strong and rich spirit. I give you strength against enemies who would destroy your soul. I give you a changed heart. I direct you and "lead you beside still waters for my namesake and I will restore your soul forever" (Ps. 23). You have come to Me and asked and you shall receive (Jn. 16:24).

"You will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." (Ps. 23). In this I delight because you do not cease to thank Me. Will you continue to do this and sooth Me?
